The finger circumference indicates the inner circumference of the wedding ring. You can easily determine this yourself at home by placing a thin thread around the desired ring finger. Our tip: The ring also has to pass over the knuckle – so don’t forget to take this into account!
You want to surprise your dream partner and secretly buy a ring, but you need to find out the ring size without being noticed? With this method that’s no problem: First you need a well-fitting ring belonging to your partner. Rings that are currently being worn are particularly suitable. It’s perfect if the new ring is similar to the old one in profile shape and width, because differing shapes can lead to variations in ring size. Measure the inner diameter of the ring using a ruler or caliper. Multiply this value by the factor 3.14 and you will obtain the required inner circumference.
The profile shape and width of a ring should not be underestimated – they significantly influence the ring size. For example, narrow rings are easier to put on and take off than wider designs. If you opt for rings with a rounded inner side, note that these usually slide over the finger more easily than versions with a straight inner side.

On which hand do you wear a wedding ring?
We are often asked on which hand and which finger engagement and wedding rings are worn. Basically: there is no right or wrong – every couple decides for themselves. Many people follow traditions: in Germany and Austria, the wedding ring is usually worn on the right hand, the engagement ring on the left. Internationally, couples often prefer the left hand – here the ring is meant to be closer to the heart. After the wedding, many women wear both rings on the same finger.
