From these, the famous Hearts and Arrows developed. This refers to particularly valuable diamonds with a symmetrical cutting pattern of eight arrows and eight hearts.

When all 57 facets of the brilliant cut are arranged in perfectly proportional relation to one another, a pattern of eight symmetrical arrows and hearts is created. When viewing the diamond from above through a special loupe, eight symmetrical arrows can be seen. When looking at the diamond from below, eight symmetrical hearts become visible.
